Pastor Dave serves as t
he Senior Pastor at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. A native of Arizona, Pastor Dave ministered in his home state for four years as Pastor, Associate Pastor, and Youth Minister before being commissioned as an Army officer. During his military service, Pastor Dave was an active Bible teacher and preacher at his various postings and local churches. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Army, Pastor Dave was called as pastor of Beacon Baptist Church, Shelbyville, IN, where he served for six years. He was called as Senior Pastor of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in September 2003. Pastor Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts (Religion) from Grand Canyon College (now University), Phoenix, AZ, and a Master of Arts in Christian Education from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, Louisville, KY. In addition, he has completed the course work minus the dissertation towards an Education Doctorate (EdD) at The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and has received a Doctor of Divinity (honorary) from Pastors Seminary. Pastor Dave has also served as an adjunct professor of Systematic Theology at Crossroads Bible College and Pastors Seminary. Pastor Dave and his wife Debra are the parents of two adult children and are the proud grandparents of four grandchildren (includes one yet to be born).
Pastor Arthur serves as Pastor of Worship at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church. He graduated from Carson-Newman College, a Southern Baptist school in Jefferson City, TN, just a few hours from his home town of Bristol, TN. At Carson-Newman, Pastor Arthur was the student director of the contemporary Christian musical group “Foundation.” Before coming to Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, he served as the Minister of Music at Beacon Baptist Church in Shelbyville, IN, for six years and directed various YMCA's around the country for 17 years. Pastor Arthur was called as Pastor of Worship to Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in 2005. As a bi-vocational pastor, he also serves as the Executive Director of SCUFFY (Shelby County United Fund, Inc.) in Shelbyville, IN, and has recorded a CD. Pastor Arthur and his wife Shereé have two adult children, a daughter in high school, and three beautiful grandchildren.

Robert Black, Elder
Pastor Robert Black serves as an elder on the Pastoral Leadership Team. He grew up at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church, and has been a member for over 40 years. Pastor Robert came to know the Lord Jesus Christ at the age of nine under the ministry of this church. He has served at Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in many areas, including as a director of Vacation Bible School and Sunday School, as well as teaching Sunday School to both children and adults. He was ordained as a deacon in 1987, and served in that capacity until being set apart by the congregation to serve as an elder. On January 10, 2010, Pastor Robert was ordained to the Gospel Ministry as a Pastor. Besides serving as an elder on the Pastoral Leadership Team, Pastor Robert also teaches an Adult Sunday School class and leads devotional studies in the Senior Pastor’s absence. He has worked for a major distribution center for 30 years. Pastor Robert is both a church and secular history buff.

David Stegman, Elder
David Stegman serves as an elder on the Pastoral Leadership Team. A native Indianan, David accepted Christ at the age of seven at a child evangelism class his mother held at the First Baptist Church in Mishawaka, IN. He attended Bob Jones University, receiving a BS in Accounting and a BA in English. After serving in the United States Air Force, David worked for the federal government in accounting at locations throughout the world. Before coming to Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in 2005, he served in various churches as an usher, board member, deacon, youth and adult Sunday School teacher and leader of a church affiliated scouting program. In addition to serving as an elder on the Pastoral Leadership Team, David is an adult Sunday School teacher and is a member of the finance team. David and his wife of 44 years, Susan, have three sons and two boy German Shepherds.
